Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation strengthened its engagement with key government partners during the Philippine International Motor Show, highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration in supporting the country’s automotive manufacturing sector.

MMPC President and CEO Ritsu Imaeda met with Bureau of Customs Port of Batangas District Collector Carmelita Talusan and Department of Trade and Industry–Board of Investments Executive Director Corazon Halili-Dichosa during PIMS.

The meetings reflected MMPC’s continued commitment to working closely with government stakeholders involved in trade facilitation, investment development, and industrial growth.

Strengthening Trade and Industry Collaboration

MMPC has a longstanding partnership with the Bureau of Customs Port of Batangas, a key gateway for the importation of the company’s vehicles and components.

As one of the country’s leading vehicle importers and manufacturers, MMPC recognizes the importance of close coordination with BOC in supporting efficient trade operations and business continuity.

The company also values its collaboration with the DTI-BOI, particularly as it aligns its investments and long-term plans with the development goals of the Philippine automotive sector.

Supporting the Future of Automotive Manufacturing

MMPC’s engagement with government partners comes as the automotive industry continues to evolve through changing mobility needs, manufacturing priorities, and electrification programs.

The company said it is supporting government efforts toward vehicle electrification, including plans related to the local production of hybrid electric vehicles.

This direction connects MMPC’s existing manufacturing presence with emerging opportunities in cleaner and more future-ready mobility.

A Longstanding Industry Player

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines remains one of the country’s leading automotive assemblers and distributors.

The company operates a 23-hectare manufacturing plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, with a maximum production capacity of 50,000 units.

MMPC locally manufactures the Mirage, Mirage G4, and L300, continuing its role as one of the longest-standing automotive companies in the Philippines.

Continuing Constructive Engagement

“Constructive engagement with our government stakeholders remains important as we continue to contribute to the growth of the Philippine automotive industry,” said Imaeda.

He added that MMPC values the opportunity to exchange insights with government partners and explore ways to support shared economic and industrial objectives.

For the automotive sector, these engagements matter because industry growth depends not only on vehicle demand, but also on trade efficiency, manufacturing support, investment alignment, and policy cooperation.

By maintaining active dialogue with BOC and BOI, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines continues to position itself as a committed partner in the country’s long-term mobility and manufacturing development.
