Naoko Yamada’s The Colors Within sees the world through the eyes of Totsuko, Kimi, and Rui: three students who come together in a small town and bond through shared experiences and music. Together they go through life and young teens and all the joys and sorrows that come with it.

Check out the adventurous kids of The Colors Within:

Totsuko has seen the world differently from other people since she was a child. Looking at other people makes her see their color, and there’s so many beautiful, gentle colors coming from everyone around her. A chance encounter with Kimi, a fellow student who exudes Totsuko’s favorite color, and Rui, a boy from across the island, adds even more color and joy to her life.

Kimi goes to the same private school as Totsuko, but all of a sudden decides to drop out. Working at a bookstore to hide the fact that she hasn’t been going to school anymore from her grandmother, she struggles with guilt and loneliness. Meeting Totsuko and Rui gives her a chance to form friendships, and their music is a balm to the conflict brewing inside her.

Rui is a boy from across the island that comes into town every now and then, meeting Totsuko and Kimi on a chance encounter. Feeling the pressure of continuing the family hospital, he hides his true passion of creating music and performing from his mother. His new friends help him come out of his shell and let him be his real self.

Go on a sensational journey as “The Colors Within” makes a splash in Philippine cinemas on October 23. Follow Encore Films PH on Facebook and @encorefilmsph on Instagram for the latest updates.

About “The Colors Within”:

Synesthete Totsuko can see others as colors. Honor student Kimi has dropped out of school but still pretends to attend for her grandmother’s sake. They reunite and decide to form a band with Rui, who dreams of composing on analog synthesizers but whose mother expects him to become a doctor. Together, they find freedom, joy, and love.

Directed by Naoko Yamada, and starring Akari Takaishi, Sayu Suzukawa, and Taisei Kido. From Encore Films distributed by Warner Bros., The Colors Within opens Philippine cinemas on October 23.
