Jennifer Lopez stars in Kiss of the Spider Woman Philippines
Ayala Malls Cinemas brings another prestige title to local theaters with the exclusive release of Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring Jennifer Lopez and directed by Academy Award winner Bill Condon.
The film is based on Manuel Puig’s 1976 novel and the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical by Terrence McNally, John Kander, and Fred Ebb, known for Cabaret and Chicago.
Joining Lopez are Diego Luna (Andor, Y tu mamá también) and Tonatiuh (Promised Land). Condon, celebrated for Dreamgirls, Chicago, and Beauty and the Beast, directs this latest adaptation.
Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, the story unfolds in 1983 Argentina during a time of dictatorship. Two prisoners, Valentín (Luna) and Molina (Tonatiuh), share a cell and slowly form a connection. To escape their harsh reality, Molina tells the story of his favorite movie, “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” featuring Lopez as a mysterious siren who kills with her kiss.
