Kim Woo-bin and Suzy are teaming up for Netflix’s new fantasy romance Genie, Make a Wish, premiering on October 3. Written by Kim Eun-sook, the mind behind The Glory, the series offers a fresh take on the timeless genie legend with a mix of comedy, romance, and dark twists.
The story follows Jinn (Kim Woo-bin), a genie who awakens after a thousand years, only to meet Ka-young (Suzy), his detached and unconventional master. Unlike the gentle genie most people expect, Jinn tempts humans with three wishes that often come at a cost. His eccentric and naive view of the modern world adds humor to the otherwise dangerous magic he wields.

Ka-young is far from an ordinary lead. Played by Suzy, she is portrayed as an emotionless psychopath who grew up admired by her community for her wealth, education, and beauty. Her strange pairing with Jinn sets off conflicts and sparks that drive the story toward unexpected directions filled with desire, corruption, and love.
The cast also includes Ahn Eun-jin as the enigmatic Mi-joo, Noh Steve Sang-hyun as Soo-hyun, Genie’s brother and rival, Ko Kyu-phil as Sayyid, Genie’s assistant who hides a dark secret, and Lee Zoo-young as Min-ji, Ka-young’s only friend.
Genie, Make a Wish promises to deliver a story that blends fantasy and reality, testing the limits of human desire and the price of wishes.
