Jollibee Group Manufacturing and Logistics’ Assistant Vice President and Head of Engineering Services Julius Leyba, received the award during the Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards Gala Night last November 6.

The Jollibee Group has been recognized for its sustainable supply chain practices at the inaugural Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards, earning the Silver Award for its commitment to sustainability and responsible business operations. The recognition, held on November 6 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, highlights the impact of Farmer Entrepreneurship Program (“FEP”) of the Jollibee Group Foundation (“JGF”), which empowers smallholder farmers to become active participants in the Group’s supply chain in the Philippines.

The recognition is the latest in a string of awards that prove once again that the Jollibee Group continues to make measurable progress toward its sustainability goals, driven by its leaders, employees, and partners.

Celebrating Regional ESG Excellence

Organized by A-EPIC Asia, the first-ever Asia ESG Positive Impact Awards 2025 is a regional platform that highlights ESG leaders and their best practices. Gold awardees from the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s ESG Edge Impact Awards, Malaysia’s The Star, and Indonesia’s KG Media advanced to represent their countries, showcasing the region’s top sustainability champions.

“Government action alone is not enough, as we need the commitment of the private sector, civil society, and media organisations to raise awareness, mobilise communities, and drive lasting behavioural change, “ said Malaysia Energy Transition and Water Transformation Deputy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir praised the winning companies for leading ESG efforts across the region.

Uplifting Farmers through Sustainable Supply Chains

FEP—implemented through JGFs—continues to empower smallholder farmers by integrating them into the Group’s supply chain. By providing training, market access, and resources, FEP helps ensure consistent, sustainable sourcing while uplifting livelihoods and strengthening rural economies.

“This award is a meaningful recognition of how collaboration between the private sector, farmers, and communities can drive inclusive growth,” said Gisela Tiongson, President of Jollibee Group Foundation. “Through FEP, we continue to empower Filipino farmers to become agro-entrepreneurs, building a more resilient and sustainable food supply system. Beyond stable incomes, our partner farmers have also gained confidence and a stronger entrepreneurial mindset, enabling them to improve their family’s quality of life—investing in their farms, and even sending their children to school.”

Commitment to Sustainable Growth

The initiative highlights the Jollibee Group’s broader sustainability agenda, Joy for Tomorrow, which is anchored on its three pillars—Food, Planet, and People. The company’s sustainability strategy is centered on creating value for stakeholders, promoting environmental stewardship, and uplifting communities across its global network.

“This recognition is especially meaningful for our team, as it affirms the direction set by our sustainability framework—particularly our People Pillar, where strengthening farmers’ livelihoods is a core focus. It inspires us to deepen our partnerships with the farmers and cooperatives and continue to expand the coverage of FEP that delivers lasting value for the people who help sustain our business and the communities we serve,” said Pepot Miñana, Jollibee Group Global Chief Sustainability Officer.

FEP’s efforts advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) Zero Hunger (SDG 2)—demonstrating how private-sector action can drive shared progress for farmers by providing access to training and education, fair market, and improved livelihood.
