WAIS Loan expands support for women entrepreneurs with Jolina Magdangal as ambassador
Asialink Finance Corporation has named actress and singer Jolina Magdangal as the official ambassador of its Women’s Access to Inclusive Support (WAIS) Loan, a program designed to bridge the financing gap for women entrepreneurs in the Philippines.
The WAIS Loan has grown rapidly since its launch, with disbursements surging by 5,000% from ₱10 million to ₱525 million. Over 1,025 women entrepreneurs across the country have benefited, with an average loan size of ₱500,000. Borrowers can access up to ₱20 million with rates starting at 0.99% and repayment terms of up to 36 months.
“Women-led MSMEs are key drivers of inclusive growth,” said Samuel Cariño, President and CEO of Asialink Finance Corporation. “With Jolina as our ambassador, we aim to empower more Filipina entrepreneurs with access to capital so they can expand, hire, and uplift their communities.”
Magdangal, who is also a businesswoman, shared her excitement: “Seeing what the WAIS Loan has accomplished in such a short time is inspiring. It shows how access to the right tools can turn ideas into businesses and businesses into livelihoods.”
Supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and International Finance Corporation (IFC), WAIS has become a significant part of Asialink’s loan portfolio, with women-owned MSMEs now representing 57% of its clients. By July and August 2025, Asialink recorded ₱1 billion in total loan disbursements across its portfolio, signaling strong trust from entrepreneurs.
With Jolina at the forefront, Asialink hopes to inspire more Filipinas to pursue entrepreneurship, scale their ventures, and contribute to economic progress.
