inDrive honored for AI in Transportation at Asian Technology Excellence Awards
inDrive has been recognized with the Philippines Technology Excellence Award for AI in Transportation at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025. The honor highlights the company’s role in reshaping urban mobility for Filipinos with fairness, inclusivity, and transparency at its core.
Mark Tolley, APAC Director at inDrive, said the recognition is not just for the company’s technology but for the people it was built for. He emphasized that AI should amplify user autonomy, ensure fairness, and create safer, more transparent experiences for both passengers and drivers.
In the Philippines, where fare transparency and affordability matter, inDrive’s human-centric AI stands out. The system supports fair order matching, aligns with government fare guidelines, and optimizes routes while leaving the final decision to users.
AI also powers features that enhance daily use:
- Photo-control using machine vision to check vehicle safety.
- AI-assisted routing for faster support response.
- Predictive demand algorithms to position drivers where they are needed.
- Smarter ETAs and traffic-sensitive routes in congested areas.
Breaking communication barriers is another priority. With Gemini AI, the app now provides instant, context-aware translations across English, Tagalog, Cebuano, and other dialects. This feature has reduced booking errors and improved overall satisfaction.
Safety has also improved with AI moderation tools that scan ride messages and booking notes. Within months, misuse of ride instructions dropped threefold, creating a safer platform for passengers and drivers.
Sofia Guinto, Business Development Head of inDrive Philippines, said AI should serve as a driver of fairness and opportunity. She added that inDrive remains committed to building trust and offering more inclusive and reliable mobility solutions.
The company was also named Preferred Ride-Hailing Partner of Echelon Philippines 2025, reinforcing its plans to strengthen partnerships in fintech, mobility tech, and policy sectors. While it currently operates ride-hailing services, inDrive is preparing to expand to courier services and online groceries in the Philippines.
The award cements inDrive’s mission to use AI as a tool for fairness, empowerment, and community trust, showing that technology can make mobility more humane and accessible for millions of Filipinos.
