The KPop Demon Hunters anthem surpasses Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” for longest-running No. 1 soundtrack hit of the 2020s.
HUNTR/X is rewriting chart history with “Golden,” the breakout track from Netflix’s animated feature KPop Demon Hunters. The single has now dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks, making it the longest-leading No. 1 soundtrack song of the decade.
The feat surpasses the five-week reign of Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” in 2022. Among soundtrack hits since 2015, only Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” from Fast & Furious 7 has enjoyed a longer run, holding the top spot for 12 weeks.
Performed by the powerhouse trio EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI, “Golden” also becomes the first K-pop-associated female group song and the only animated group track to rule the Hot 100 this long in the chart’s 67-year history.
The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack continues to shine: three other tracks remain in the Hot 100 top 10 for a fifth week—Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” (No. 5), “Your Idol” (No. 6), and HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done” (No. 8)—solidifying the film’s status as a global music phenomenon.
