HONOR and Alibaba have officially entered into a landmark strategic cooperation agreement in Hangzhou, China. James Li, CEO of HONOR Device Co., Ltd., and Eddie Wu, CEO of Alibaba Group, led the signing ceremony, signaling a bold new phase in AI-driven innovation.
The collaboration will focus on building a comprehensive AI ecosystem that spans AI agents, large models, and intelligent services. By leveraging their combined expertise, HONOR and Alibaba aim to accelerate the integration of AI into everyday life and redefine mobile experiences.
Key areas of collaboration include:
- AI Agent Ecosystems: Creating seamless interaction experiences across travel, tourism, lifestyle, office, e-commerce, and entertainment.
- AI Models and Capabilities: Co-developing advanced on-device and cloud-based models using the Qwen open-source model, enabling personalized and secure AI services for HONOR MagicOS users.
- Model-as-a-Service (MaaS): Jointly enhancing multimodal AI performance in text, image, video, and voice, with State-of-the-Art capabilities for both cloud and on-device AI.
Alibaba’s extensive service ecosystem, including Ele.me, Damai, and Taopiaopiao, will also be progressively integrated through the MCP (Multi-Cloud Platform) protocol, expanding the range of AI-driven lifestyle services.
The partnership will be showcased in the upcoming HONOR Magic8 Series, designed to be the most powerful self-evolving AI-native smartphone, embedding AI into diverse real-life scenarios.
This initiative cements HONOR’s position as a global leader in AI device ecosystems while reinforcing Alibaba’s role in shaping intelligent digital services. Together, they are setting the stage for the next era of cloud-device integrated mobile experiences.
