Globe and Ayala Foundation are continuing their support for communities affected by the September 2025 earthquake, providing shelter kits, emergency bags, and recovery assistance to families in Bogo City, Cebu.
Through the #BrigadangAyala program, Globe and Ayala Foundation, Inc. turned over shelter kits to 25 families and 120 Go Bags to heads of households in Barangay Binabag.
The initiative aims to help restore safer living conditions while strengthening disaster preparedness among families still recovering from the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that affected communities across Regions VII and VIII.
Supporting Families Beyond Immediate Relief
The Cebu turnover builds on earlier interventions led by Globe and its partners after the earthquake.
Emergency food packs were first distributed to affected families in October 2025, within four days of the disaster. A second round of support followed in December 2025, with Noche Buena packages and emergency kits provided to affected communities.
The latest effort in Bogo City adds another layer of support by focusing on shelter, preparedness, livelihood learning, financial literacy, basic health services, and online safety education.
Volunteers and Communities Working Together
More than 30 employee-volunteers from Globe and Ayala Group companies joined the Cebu activity.
Volunteers helped with distribution operations and conducted learning sessions for beneficiaries. These covered livelihood, financial literacy, basic health services, and online safety through Globe’s Digital Thumbprint Program.
The program was implemented in coordination with the Bogo City Local Government Unit and the Barangay Binabag Council to ensure that support matched local recovery priorities and reached the intended beneficiaries.
Customers Turn Rewards Points Into Aid
At the center of the recovery effort is the participation of more than 200,000 Globe customers who converted their Rewards points into aid through Group Goals in the GlobeOne app.
Their collective support helped deliver resources to families working to rebuild their homes and livelihoods.
Support for the initiative came from Globe Rewards, GoGIVE, Globe Business, Ayala Foundation, and Rise Against Hunger Philippines as an on-ground implementing partner.
Expanding Recovery Support
Globe and Ayala Foundation earlier supported families in the City of Mati, Davao, where 80 families received shelter kits and were introduced to digital livelihood opportunities.
The group is also preparing for the next phase of recovery assistance in El Nido, Palawan, where it plans to distribute 180 Go Bags and shelter kits to 25 public schools.
Rebuilding Safer and Stronger Communities
Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, said the company is grateful for partners and customers who helped scale support through platforms such as GlobeOne.
Bogo City LGU also underscored the value of collaboration in helping residents rebuild their homes and livelihoods after the earthquake.
Ayala Foundation President Tony Lambino said #BrigadangAyala brings together the strengths of the Ayala Group, partners, and customers to move from immediate relief toward long-term recovery.
For communities still recovering from disaster, the support shows how collective action can help families rebuild not only homes, but also confidence, preparedness, and hope for the future.
