Former Unis Member Gehlee Begins Solo Chapter with “Closer” on October 23

Gehlee Dangca, now performing professionally as GEHLEE, will release her digital single “Closer” on October 23, 2026, under Universal Records Philippines.

The romantic pop track introduces a new chapter for the former UNIS member, placing her individual musical identity at the center. Universal Records has also announced the single’s October 23 release through its official social channel.

An accompanying music video will premiere on the Universal Records Philippines YouTube channel on the same day, giving fans both a song and a visual introduction to her solo direction.

A song about the uncertainty of a secret crush

“Closer” explores the excitement of wanting to know someone better while keeping your feelings to yourself.

Its romantic premise centers on a familiar moment: deciding whether to close the distance between quiet admiration and a possible connection. That mix of anticipation and uncertainty gives the release an accessible starting point for listeners discovering GEHLEE’s solo music.

According to the announcement, the track offers a glimpse of the musical direction she is developing beyond her previous group experience.

A new focus after UNIS

GEHLEE’s move into solo work follows her time with UNIS. Her return to the Philippines and plans to pursue a solo career were reported in September.

With “Closer,” that transition takes the form of a release carrying her own artist name.

For fans who followed her group performances, the single presents an opportunity to hear how she approaches a song as an individual performer. For new listeners, it offers an introduction without requiring familiarity with her earlier career.

Music video premieres on release day

The “Closer” music video will feature GEHLEE in a variety of fashion looks, highlighting her style and screen presence.

The announcement positions the video as part of her introduction as a solo Filipina artist, pairing the song’s romantic theme with a visual presentation focused on her personality.

The single and video share the same release date, allowing audiences to experience both sides of the project on October 23. No specific premiere time was provided.
