Geeks on a Beach 2025 will gather global innovators in Cebu on October 1 to 3. The premier international tech conference in the Philippines will spotlight the API Build Lab Finale, a competition for the most promising API-driven solutions in Southeast Asia.
APIs allow different applications to connect and work together. Businesses save time and resources while users get integrated services. The API Build Lab, organized with 917Ventures through its API venture Concati, challenges developers and startups to pitch solutions with strong commercialization potential.
Finalists will join a two-week Build Sprint from September 19 to October 2, where they will receive mentoring before pitching live at the conference. Winners will receive cash prizes, travel support, AWS credits, and complimentary GOAB passes.
Prizes include:
- ₱50,000 for the Grand Winner
- ₱30,000 for 2nd Place
- ₱20,000 for 3rd Place
Winning APIs may also be published on Concati’s marketplace to scale globally.
“Geeks on a Beach has always focused on collaboration and innovation. Hosting the API Build Lab finale highlights the Philippines as a hub for tech-driven solutions,” said organizer Tina Amper.
917Ventures Managing Director Vince Yamat added, “With API Build Lab, we aim to empower developers to create real-world solutions and showcase their talent on the biggest tech stage in the Philippines.”
Since 2013, Geeks on a Beach has been a launchpad for startups, investors, and innovators in Asia. With the API Build Lab Finale, the event reinforces its role in advancing Southeast Asia’s API economy.
Developers and startups may submit API concepts at bit.ly/apibuildlab. Submission deadline is September 5, with the final pitch and awarding on October 2 to 3 at JPark Island Resort Hotel, Cebu.
