GCash champions digital transformation in finance sector
GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance super app, reinforced its commitment to digital transformation during the Manila Tech Summit 2025. With the theme “Forging a New Global Order: Risks and Opportunities Redefined,” the event convened global and local leaders to highlight the role of technology in building inclusive economies.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. delivered the keynote, citing the country’s P2.25 trillion digital sector and 11.3 million jobs created in the past year. He stressed the urgency of expanding internet infrastructure and free WiFi to push inclusive digital growth.
At the summit, GCash showcased how its ecosystem of payments, savings, insurance, lending, and investments is reshaping access to financial services. GCash President and CEO Oscar Enrico “Ren-Ren” Reyes, Jr. emphasized that digital rails empower MSMEs, uplift unbanked communities, and improve trust in financial systems. “We are not just in the business of finance. We are in the business of building hope,” he said.
GCash group head Winsley Bangit explained that true financial inclusion goes beyond convenience. The platform provides essential tools for emergencies, long-term goals, and everyday transactions. From bill payments to investment products like GFunds and GBonds, GCash continues to expand its role in supporting Filipino financial security.
On lending, Fuse Financing Inc., GCash’s lending arm, presented products like GLoan Sakto, where borrowers can access loans as low as Php 100 repayable in 14 days. With many Filipinos still dependent on informal credit, Fuse leverages AI and GScore, its in-house trust scoring system, to expand fair and dignified lending.
GCash also highlighted its strong focus on cybersecurity. Chief information security officer Miguel Geronilla underscored the importance of trust and transparency in protecting users. The company continues to deploy advanced technology and cross-institution collaboration to secure transactions.
