GCash PocketPay card terminal makes small business payments easier
GCash is making life easier for Filipino entrepreneurs. The mobile wallet leader has introduced GCash PocketPay, a feature that transforms smartphones into card terminals.

Small business owners can now accept card payments without buying expensive POS machines or extra devices. With PocketPay, merchants only need a smartphone with NFC. The setup is quick, and payments are processed instantly.
PocketPay gives micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) the flexibility to accept credit and debit cards from customers on the spot. It works well for food stalls, pop-up shops, and even online sellers who want an easier way to get paid.
Jong Layug, GCash B2B General Manager, said the goal is to help small businesses thrive. “GCash PocketPay gives MSMEs a flexible and affordable tool to grow their business,” Layug said.
GCash is waiving transaction fees for PocketPay users until December 3, 2025. This allows sellers to maximize earnings while testing the new system.
To further support small businesses, GCash also launched SoundPay, a new payment tool that confirms transactions through instant voice feedback. SoundPay helps both customers and merchants avoid confusion during busy hours, making each transaction smoother and faster.
Both GCash PocketPay and SoundPay are accessible through the GCash for Business Portal at business.gcash.com. The portal also provides analytics, reporting, and management tools for entrepreneurs.
These innovations reflect GCash’s ongoing commitment to empowering Filipino businesses through digital tools that are easy to use and cost-effective. By removing hardware barriers and offering zero fees, GCash helps small businesses compete on a bigger stage.
For MSMEs, PocketPay could be the simplest way to modernize their payment system using just a phone.
