GabAI powers classrooms of the future with AI, sustainability, and shared values

GabAI is changing how classrooms of the future are imagined in the Philippines. Built by Tagpros Education, this AI-powered teaching sidekick is designed to support, not replace, teachers. At a time when the country faces a shortage of more than 100,000 educators and struggles in global assessments, GabAI offers a timely solution.

For teachers, GabAI takes care of time-consuming tasks like lesson planning, assessments, and paperwork. This frees them to focus on mentoring, inspiring, and connecting with students. Chris Manansala, CEO of Tagpros Education, explains that GabAI is more than an app. He calls it a movement to empower every teacher and support every student.

GabAI also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It strengthens SDG 4 on Quality Education by improving teaching efficiency, supports SDG 8 on Decent Work by enhancing teachers’ work conditions, and advances SDG 17 on Partnerships by encouraging collaboration between government, private sector, and schools.

Government as Enabler
The Department of Education (DepEd) has started piloting GabAI in “GabAI-Powered Schools” under the National AI Research Program. These schools serve as testing grounds to collect data that can shape education policy. To scale its impact, DepEd must include GabAI in teacher training, budget for digital transformation, and ensure underserved schools are not left behind.

Private Sector as Partner
GabAI also reshapes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Companies can adopt GabAI in their programs to deliver measurable impact in education. PLDT’s Gabay Guro, for instance, can integrate GabAI into its long-running support for teachers, combining scholarships and training with digital classroom assistance.

Building Trust
Concerns about AI in classrooms are natural. Some worry about displacement or over-reliance on technology. GabAI addresses this by ensuring teachers remain at the center of learning. With recognition from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as a training platform, GabAI strengthens, not weakens, professional growth.

A Shared Future
GabAI’s vision is built on shared values. Government enables adoption, corporations energize CSR with measurable results, and educators remain empowered in the classroom. Together, these efforts create classrooms of the future where teachers thrive, students are supported, and national development goals are advanced.

GabAI is not just technology. It is a Filipino innovation that empowers teachers, sustains learning, and prepares the Philippines for a stronger, smarter future.
