New Zealand duo Foley debut in Korea with “Suckerpunch” and Zandari Festival showcase
New Zealand indie pop duo Foley are taking their sound to East Asia for the first time. Their latest single, “Suckerpunch,” dropped with a bold new music video on October 1, just as they begin their debut Korean tour.
The tour marks a milestone for Ash Wallace and Gabriel Everett. The pair are known for their gritty, danceable pop that blends emotional depth with playful energy. Their album That’s Life, Baby! earned critical praise from outlets like Rolling Stone, Triple J, and Ones To Watch.
“Suckerpunch” captures what Foley do best. It’s energetic yet honest, with lyrics about heartbreak and resilience. “It’s about being a hopeless romantic, getting hit with unexpected breakups, and still choosing to love again,” the band shared.
Korea has been waiting since Foley’s 2019 hit “Cola,” which gained traction among local fans. “We’re so excited to play in South Korea,” they said. “We can’t wait to meet everyone, try the food, and experience the culture.”

Their tour begins with performances at Seoul’s Zandari Festival on October 18–19. They’ll then perform with fellow New Zealander Paige on October 24 in Seoul, followed by shows with Australian pop artist Nat Vazer in Daegu on October 25 and Busan on October 26.
Foley’s live shows are raw and electric. They avoid backing tracks, preferring to keep audiences on edge with spontaneous energy. The duo has earned three Aotearoa Music Award nominations and toured with artists like Remi Wolf, Tove Lo, BENEE, and Two Door Cinema Club.
With “Suckerpunch,” Foley arrive in Korea ready to prove why they’re one of New Zealand’s strongest pop exports.
