Filipino-Canadian R&B artist RUSSELL! releases his new album “Mother’s Land” under Public Records. The project is a cross-cultural collaboration that unites Filipino and Canadian influences in one cohesive sound.
Following his debut “Dearly Loved” and its deluxe edition “EL CARIÑO,” RUSSELL! takes a deeper step into his roots. “Mother’s Land” features notable Filipino artists such as Jay R, MBNel, DENY, Because, Illest Morena, and Midnasty. The album blends R&B, hip-hop, and island-inspired rhythms, with themes centered on love, identity, and cultural pride.
The album is dedicated to his Filipino heritage and his late mother. Collaborations also include Zae, Paris., Nueve Lio, Denise Laurel, Gat Putch, and Yuridope. Recording took place in Toronto, Manila, and Cebu, creating a sound that bridges North America and the Philippines.
With two headline tours already under his belt, RUSSELL! positions “Mother’s Land” as a celebration of Filipino artistry’s past, present, and future.
