Regretting You movie adaptation earns glowing reactions ahead of its Philippine release

Fans are calling “Regretting You” the perfect movie for women, daughters, mothers, and friends. The film, based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, premiered in Dallas, Texas, during a special early screening hosted by Hoover herself.

The event gathered devoted fans and content creators who shared their emotional reactions online. Hoover co-hosted the screening with author and producer Anna Todd, known for the “After” series. The movie earned applause and glowing praise from viewers, who called it heartfelt and unforgettable.

Content creator @mollykatecline summed up the excitement: “Colleen Hoover, you did it again. Congratulations on another incredible movie!” Another fan, @sammietrinidadcreates, said, “If you like to cry, this movie is for you. If you like to laugh, this movie is for you. It tickled my bookish heart.”

Entertainment Tonight producer Nikki Snook said she “laughed, cried, and loved every bit” of the film. She added, “It’s the perfect movie to see with girlfriends. I hadn’t read the book, but now I want to. I’m telling everyone to see it.”

Collider’s Perri Nemiroff praised Mckenna Grace for her performance as Clara Grant, saying she “can really embrace any character.” Fans online agreed, describing Grace’s acting as “captivating” and “a must-see this year.”

“Regretting You” stars Allison Williams as Morgan Grant and Mckenna Grace as her daughter Clara. After a tragic accident and shocking betrayal, the two must face family secrets and rediscover each other. The film also features Dave Franco, Mason Thames, Sam Morelos, Scott Eastwood, and Willa Fitzgerald.

Directed by Josh Boone (“The Fault in Our Stars”), “Regretting You” opens in Philippine cinemas on October 22, distributed by Paramount Pictures.
