Fairmont Returns to New Orleans with Its 100Th Hotel

The 250-room property combines a restored office landmark, Rockwell Group interiors, and dining developed with Emeril Lagasse.

Fairmont has returned to New Orleans after two decades with a 250-room hotel that the brand identifies as its 100th property worldwide.

Fairmont New Orleans opened on November 2, 2026, in the city’s Central Business District, occupying part of the former Bank of New Orleans building. The company’s opening announcement confirms both the date and the portfolio milestone.

The location places guests within walking distance of the French Quarter and near major cultural, business, and entertainment destinations.

A New Use for a 1970 Landmark

Developed by Kailas Companies and operated by Fairmont, the hotel occupies 17 stories of the 31-story building originally designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

Its interiors, created by Rockwell Group, draw on New Orleans’ natural landscape, cultural influences, and 1970s design references.

Restoration work preserved features including original floors, concrete walls, bronze paneling, and a local cypress ceiling.

The result gives the property a connection to a different period of the city’s architecture, alongside its better-known historic neighborhoods.

Dining With Emeril Lagasse

The opening introduces Delmonico Steakhouse and The Café by Emeril, developed with Chef Emeril Lagasse and The Emeril Group.

Delmonico focuses on steakhouse dining with New Orleans influences. The café offers a more relaxed breakfast-and-lunch setting combining French-inspired dishes with Creole and Southern elements.

The hotel also provides more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space, with venues accommodating gatherings of different sizes.

What Opens Later

The launch is phased. Fairmont’s release schedules additional facilities for early December, including:

• Fairmont Gold’s private lounge experience.
• The rooftop pool and Bleu Perdu.
• Third Measure cocktail bar.
• The spa and fitness center.

These should be confirmed before booking a stay built around a particular facility.

Announced room rates start at US$459 per night. Guests should review dates, availability, taxes, and booking conditions for their chosen stay.

For travelers, the hotel adds a Central Business District base that connects restored architecture with dining and access to the surrounding city.
