The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and TP (formerly Teleperformance) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen protection and reintegration programs for returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). The partnership focuses on OFWs who were victims of illegal recruitment and human trafficking.
The MOA was signed at the DMW National Office in Mandaluyong City by DMW Assistant Secretary Jerome Alcantara and TP Philippines Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson. Also present were other officials from the DMW and TP.
The agreement establishes a full-cycle reintegration program. It covers economic, social, psychological, and cultural support for OFWs. TP will provide job readiness modules, upskilling opportunities, recruitment support, and awareness campaigns against human trafficking.
The DMW will identify and endorse eligible OFWs to TP for training and employment. TP, in turn, will offer pre-employment upskilling, free training aligned with industry standards, and fair labor practices.
Alcantara said the program aims to restore dignity and rebuild lives. “Reintegration is not just about providing jobs. It is about restoring dignity, rebuilding lives, and offering sustainable pathways for OFWs returning home with hopes of starting anew,” he explained.
Johnson emphasized TP’s commitment to inclusivity and compassion. “This partnership goes beyond economic growth. It is about compassion, inclusivity, and community. We want OFWs to know they are not alone,” he said.
The initiative strengthens DMW’s mission of protecting Filipino workers abroad while creating opportunities for a stable livelihood at home. It also enhances TP’s role as a strong partner in government programs for labor welfare and inclusive employment.
