The Cebuana Lhuillier-backed RP Blu Girls are set for a demanding international campaign in 2026 as they prepare for two of the sport’s biggest stages — the Women’s Softball World Cup and the Asian Games. In a bid to sharpen their competitiveness against the world’s best teams, the Blu Girls will embark on a series of overseas training camps and joint practices across Asia and the United States.
According to Jean Henri Lhuillier, president of the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier, the extensive international schedule underscores the federation’s commitment to strengthening the national team. “Our goal is to give the Blu Girls every opportunity to compete and train at the highest level. These international camps and tournaments are vital in preparing them for the challenges of the World Cup and the Asian Games, and we are confident they will represent Philippine softball proudly on the global stage,” he said.
The team’s preparation begins with a joint training camp in Korea scheduled from May 16 to 22, where the RP Blu Girls will train alongside the Korea National Softball Team. The program is expected to provide valuable high-level exposure and allow the Philippine squad to test its systems against one of Asia’s established softball programs.
Following the Korea camp, the Blu Girls will head to Japan for another training block from mid-June until the end of June. Their preparation will be put to the test when the Blu Girls compete in the Women’s Softball World Cup scheduled from July 14 to 18 in Peru.
Immediately after the World Cup, the team will proceed to the United States for an extended training camp that will run from July 19 through September.
The Blu Girls will then shift their focus to the Asian Games set from September 24 to October 3 in Japan, where they will aim to deliver a strong showing against the region’s top softball programs.
