Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Ultra 3, priced from PHP 54,990, introducing new health and safety features alongside rugged upgrades for active users.
The highlight is two-way satellite communication. Users can now send texts, share locations, or trigger emergency SOS alerts even without cellular or WiFi coverage. The feature is free for two years after activation. Apple backs this with redesigned antennas that double signal strength and can reach satellites up to 800 miles away.
Key safety functions include:
- Emergency SOS via Satellite: Calls for help automatically if you are unresponsive after a fall or crash.
- Messages and Find My via Satellite: Share encrypted texts, emojis, or location updates every 15 minutes.
The Watch Ultra 3 also debuts a hypertension notification. By analyzing blood vessel responses with its optical heart rate sensor, the device warns users of potential chronic high blood pressure, pushing for early medical checkups. A sleep score and Workout Buddy, powered by Apple Intelligence, add personalized wellness and fitness coaching.
On design, the rugged 49mm titanium case comes in natural or black, with 100 meters water resistance. Apple notes the watch uses 40 percent recycled materials, including 100 percent recycled titanium and cobalt, produced with renewable energy.
The display is a brighter 3,000-nit LTPO3 panel with thinner borders, Always-On mode at 1Hz, and a new Waypoint Watch Face with compass and satellite shortcuts. Battery life reaches 42 hours of normal use or up to 72 hours in low-power mode, with rapid charging giving 12 hours in 15 minutes.
Philippines pricing:
- PHP 54,990 with Alpine, Trail, or Ocean Band
- PHP 60,990 with Titanium Milanese Loop
