Affordable High-Speed 5G Mobile Data Bridging the Digital Divide

In today’s rapidly evolving digital sphere, access to reliable high-speed internet has shifted from a convenience to a necessity. Across education, healthcare, business, and entertainment, digital connectivity is fundamental. Yet, as seen in developing countries like the Philippines, a stark digital divide persists, particularly in rural and marginalized communities. The urgent call for affordable, high-speed mobile data solutions has never been clearer.

Amidst these challenges, the advent of 5G technology offers a promising solution. With its unparalleled speed, reliability, and capacity, 5G holds the potential to transform internet connectivity, opening avenues for innovation and progress. From smart city initiatives to remote healthcare and education, the opportunities abound. Yet, realizing widespread adoption hinges on addressing key factors: affordability and accessibility.

Pioneering true 5G connectivity

Among the companies at the forefront of these efforts is DITO Telecommunity, which, while a relatively new player in the Philippine telecommunications market, demonstrates a robust commitment to expanding access to digital services and bridging the digital divide. Leveraging the power of its 5G Standalone (SA) network, DITO sets itself apart from competitors by offering a truly independent and cutting-edge infrastructure, ensuring the full benefits of 5G technology.

This 5G technology is 20 times faster than 4G or LTE (Long Term Evolution) and it is also 100 times better in terms of traffic capacity and network efficiency. DITO’s 5G SA network works even better than its competitors’ 5G offering because the company’s digital infrastructure is built to house this next generation technology. Other telcos use their legacy 4G infrastructure as a jump-off point to provide 5G, hence these are non-standalone (NSA) 5G. DITO’s 5G SA offering, with its ultra-low latency and wider range of use cases for new devices, is dubbed “the real 5G”.

A growing list of 5G SA smartphones or dual-mode 5G smartphones are available in DITO’s website. More devices running on these networks are expected to be widely available as the 5G network becomes the standard for mobile connectivity.

DITO’s coverage is now available across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The company continually develops and deploys its 5G SA infrastructure to deliver blazing-fast speeds and seamless connectivity and close the digital divide by revolutionizing the mobile experience for millions of Filipinos.

Range of products for every need

But accessibility is only part of the equation; affordability is equally crucial, especially in a country where a significant portion of the population belongs to the lower-income bracket. Recognizing this, DITO has introduced a range of mobile postpaid and prepaid products tailored to suit different needs and budgets.

For those who prefer the convenience of a postpaid plan, DITO offers flexible and value-packed options that include generous data allowances and unlimited calls and texts. The company recently unveiled its newest and most affordable postpaid plans- DITO Mobile Postpaid FLEXPlan 388 and UNLIMITED 5G data offering for its SIM-Only plans. For FLEXPlan 388, customers can enjoy a total of 50GB of data; the usual 25GB plus an additional 25GB of 5G data, UNLI all-net calls & texts, 12 months Prime Video subscription, and other perks – all starting at only PHP 288 per month for the first three months.

Meanwhile, DITO also revamped its SIM-Only Plans and introduced UNLIMITED 5G data offerings for SIM-Only Plans for as low as Php 888, which comes with 40GB of 4G data per month.  All SIM-Only plans come with UNLI all-net calls and texts and no lock-in period.

Plans like these are designed to provide affordability without compromising on the quality of service, making it easier for users to stay connected as easy-on-the-pocket as possible.

On the other hand, for those who prefer the freedom and control of prepaid services, DITO offers a variety of prepaid products that cater to different usage patterns.

From affordable data promos to unlimited call and text offers, DITO’s prepaid options are designed to give users the flexibility to customize their mobile experience according to their needs and budget. Interested customers can start their DITO journey with the DITO SIM Starter Pack for only Php 39 packed with up to 25GB of data. DITO also has affordable prepaid subscriptions like DITO Level-Up 99. For only Php 99, customers can enjoy 7GB of all-access data, unlimited text to all networks, 300 minutes of all calls to other networks, unlimited DITO to DITO calls, and bonus Prime Video subscription- all valid for 30 days.

In addition to affordability, convenience plays a crucial role in bridging the digital divide. With DITO’s user-friendly mobile app and intuitive self-service features, managing one’s account and purchasing data packages has never been easier. Whether you’re a tech-savvy urbanite or a first-time smartphone user in a rural village, DITO’s simple and accessible mobile solutions give the power of connectivity into your hands.
