Mentions of Philippine brands in Google AI Overviews increased more than 23-fold in 2025, according to a Truelogic study examining how brands appear in AI-generated search answers.

The digital marketing consultancy tracked monthly mentions of 80 Philippine brands across seven sectors from January to December 2025. Retail, e-commerce, and real estate recorded the strongest growth in AI visibility.

During the same period, the study found that organic branded traffic across 80 Philippine websites declined by 3% to 8%. Truelogic emphasized that the trends occurred alongside each other, but its research did not establish a cause-and-effect relationship.

The findings suggest a changing environment for brand discovery, where appearing in an AI-generated answer is becoming another consideration alongside attracting visits from traditional search.

What stronger AI visibility had in common

According to Truelogic, brands with stronger AI visibility generally showed three characteristics: high brand search interest, clearly structured content, and well-optimized websites.

Bernard San Juan III, managing partner of Truelogic, said businesses need to consider how easily their expertise can be understood and verified.

“Being found is no longer just about ranking for the right keywords,” San Juan said.

He encouraged brands to organize content around customer questions and maintain a consistent presence across credible sources, including news coverage, reviews, and social media.

The company’s message is that search rankings remain important, while brand visibility increasingly includes how information is represented in AI-generated answers, comparisons, and recommendations.

Mentions and website visits measure different outcomes

The study’s distinction between visibility and traffic is important.

A brand mention in an AI-generated response does not necessarily translate into a website visit. Likewise, a decline in branded organic traffic does not, by itself, prove that AI answers caused fewer visits.

Truelogic’s findings document parallel changes in the websites and brands it examined. They provide a view of that sample rather than a measurement of every Philippine business.

For marketers reviewing the results, the data highlights the value of assessing brand mentions alongside traffic instead of treating them as interchangeable measures.

Client results offer additional examples

Separately from its 80-brand study, Truelogic reported results from 40 client projects. It said these projects recorded a 750% increase in AI visibility from January to July 2025, compared with a 400% average it reported across Philippine websites during the same period.

Among its examples, an unnamed Philippine bank reached a 38.1% AI share of voice within its peer group. An unnamed property developer recorded 53.38% AI share of voice across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity.

Truelogic defines AI share of voice as a brand’s share of mentions and citations in AI-generated responses compared with a defined group of peers. It said client identities were withheld at their request.

These figures describe the company’s reported client outcomes and are separate from the broader study’s year-long findings.
