Ayala Malls Cinemas Brings Luca Guadagnino’S Acclaimed Film “Queer” to Philippine Screens Starting June 10

The Venice Film Festival competition entry arrives in Philippine cinemas this Pride Month, bringing one of the year’s most talked-about cinematic stories to local audiences.
Ayala Malls Cinemas is once again marking Pride Month by bringing powerful and meaningful stories to the big screen.

Starting June 10, Ayala Malls Cinemas will exclusively screen “QUEER,” the acclaimed new film from visionary director Luca Guadagnino, known for his celebrated works Call Me by Your Name and Challengers.
Based on the novel by William S. Burroughs, the film made waves as an Official Competition entry at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, where it received a remarkable nine-minute standing ovation, highlighting its emotional depth and artistic impact.
Starring Daniel Craig as William Lee and Drew Starkey as Eugene Allerton, “QUEER” unfolds in 1950s Mexico City, following an American expatriate whose isolated life is disrupted by an unexpected connection that challenges his understanding of intimacy, solitude, and longing.
The film also features Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, Henrique Zaga, and Omar Apollo.
Luca Guadagnino’s adaptation offers a tender and intimate interpretation of Burroughs’ semi-autobiographical unfinished novel, focusing on vulnerability and emotional connection beneath its literary complexity.
The story’s exploration of love, identity, and human connection reflects Ayala Malls Cinemas’ ongoing commitment to championing diverse narratives that encourage empathy, conversation, and representation.
As one of the country’s leading premium cinema destinations, Ayala Malls Cinemas offers an elevated moviegoing experience through Dolby Audio and Dolby Atmos technology, plush seating, and spacious legroom designed for maximum comfort.
Moviegoers can also enjoy a hassle-free booking experience through Ayala Malls All Access, where tickets and snacks can be conveniently reserved online.
Before its official theatrical run, audiences can catch “QUEER” during its Early Access Screening on May 30 at 6:30 PM at TriNoma, Glorietta, and Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
The film officially opens June 10 exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide.
This Pride Month, Ayala Malls Cinemas continues to celebrate authentic storytelling by bringing one of cinema’s most emotionally resonant films to Filipino audiences.
