Lukas Graham Announces New Album ‘Good Times,’ Arriving August 14

The Grammy-nominated Danish artist returns to his folk and Celtic roots with a deeply personal album led by the new single “Second Chance.”

Lukas Graham is entering a new musical chapter with the announcement of his forthcoming studio album, Good Times, set for release on August 14 via Virgin Music Group.

The internationally acclaimed Danish singer-songwriter also released his new single, “Second Chance,” a foot-stomping anthem about owning mistakes, embracing renewal, and choosing to become better. The track is now available on streaming platforms, with its official music video streaming on Lukas Graham’s YouTube channel.

Built on reflection, heritage, and personal perspective, Good Times brings Lukas back to the Celtic and folk traditions that shaped his upbringing in Copenhagen. The album reconnects him with the Irish heritage of his late father, Eugene, a Donegal-born music lover who booked folk musicians throughout Scandinavia and introduced Lukas to many of the sounds that influenced his early relationship with music.

After years of global success and life on the road, the album marks a return to those roots. It was recorded with a collective of musicians in Nashville and New York, many of whom had personal ties to Eugene and the folk community Lukas grew up around.

The project features respected players from Celtic, bluegrass, and acoustic traditions, including Michael McGoldrick on uilleann pipes and Irish flute, Sam Grisman on bass, Tim O’Brien on mandolin and backing vocals, Stuart Duncan on fiddle, and Brian Sutton on guitar.

“People my dad knew. People who had slept on a couch in my mum and dad’s living room,” Lukas shared. “It was very important to me that we got a hold of some of these musicians and got that cultural connection.”

Before announcing the album, Lukas introduced the project with “To Know a Girl,” a banjo-driven folk-pop track built around a soaring chorus and powerful vocals. He described the song as “short and sweet,” but intentionally bold, giving listeners a first look into the album’s new sound while keeping the emotional storytelling that has defined his work.

Lukas Graham first gained global recognition with the 2015 hit “7 Years,” a reflective ballad that earned three Grammy nominations, topped charts in more than 15 countries, and placed him among the first 25 artists in Spotify’s Billions Club. Over the years, he has built a multi-platinum career across four albums, with hits including “Love Someone,” which was certified platinum in 18 countries.

Known for songs that explore family, love, grief, and resilience, Lukas Graham continues to build music around personal stories that connect across generations and cultures.

This year, he will also join Ed Sheeran as a special guest on select North American dates of the 2026 Loop Tour, beginning August 15 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
