Zino Lilies successfully clinched the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational (MWI) Mekong Qualifier title and bested other teams from Laos and Thailand. In the best-of-five grand finals match against Team PG, the Vietnamese squad showcased their mastery of the game and dominantly edged out the contender to punch their ticket to the upcoming MWI 2024.
Held at Vientiane Center Lao, the Grand Finals event saw more than 500 on-site spectators and onlookers who showed their support for the participating teams from Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Zino Lilies will represent the Mekong Region in the upcoming MWI 2024, featured in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The global tournament for professional female MLBB athletes will feature 16 international teams and the biggest prize pool for an all-female tournament yet worth USD 500,000.
MWI Mekong Qualifier was co-organized with Laos Telcom Group and endorsed by Lao Esports Federation. Earlier today, the members of the Laos Olympic Committee were present for the opening ceremony.
Jonathan Sirisackda, President of Lao Esports Federation, said: “This event marks good milestones for Lao Esports as a whole, and we do believe there more to come. In the near future, we hope to host our own national league.”
This is the first-ever MLBB tournament hosted in Laos.
