EXPRESS is the debut single from two of Japan’s most exciting new talents, multi platinum award winning Producer/Artist Taka Perry and champion Hip-Hop/Rap Artist Leon Fanourakis.
Taken from their upcoming debut record THE GRIFFIN TAPES, the release of EXPRESS is the perfect introduction of what to expect from the collaborative EP venture from these two undeniable creative powerhouses.
Utilising live recordings of the sounds of Tokyo’s iconic rail system, EXPRESS builds tension right from the start. With Taka’s intense drums and samples accompanying Leon’s venomous, fast paced bars, the duo have created a sonically arresting rap track.
Featuring Leon and Taka roaming around the grimy underbellies of Tokyo,
EXPRESS is accompanied by a dark and visually sinister music video. Shot by Red Moon Studios, the grainy, B&W visuals are reminiscent of the notorious (and widely banned) MV Firestarter by pioneering electronic group The Prodigy.
First pairing up in 2021, via the thunderous track 1234, the two have since forged a close creative partnership, building up a sizable catalogue of new works over the past 3 years.
