It’s fan fest feels again as YouTube Fan Fest had its Manila run last May 12, 2017 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. YouTube FanFest Philippines or YTFFPH was kickstarted by everyone’s Pinoy boy, Mikey Bustos, with all his antics that had send guffaws of laughters from the audience. Mikey, coincidentally, was also this year’s YTFFPH host.
Aussie Jayden Rodrigues and his super dance crew gave everyone something to dance about, pun intended, as he paid tribute to the late great Michael Jackson. And even Iron Man had a piece of a performance dedicated to him.
Now who could say no to a shimmy dance with another funnybone, Lloyd Cafe Cadena, who sure got giggles as he shimmied his way to the stage in his babydoll dress yet with a rugged dude sneakers. Hilarity at its oddest indeed.
Filipina singing sensation Kristel Fulmar seems to have made the world stop momentarily as she belted out songs onstage and what a fitting follow-up was Jun Curry Ahn’s set as he serenaded the crowd whilst displaying his prowess in playing the violin.
Back-to-back YTFFPH attendee, Alex Wassabi, sweetened the deal as he returned this time with fellow YouTuber and girlfriend, Lauren. They did Picture Challenge onstage and for the first time. Alex and Lauren also performed their song “My Side” to the delight of the Filipino audience.
Young female singer Megan Nicole hasn’t been in the Philippines since 2012’s Circuit Fest: Skate and Music Fest. While she did play the guitar then for her full set, she replied on her band this time around, with an attempt to show a more mature singing and a grown-up musicality.
We can sum up that this year’s YTFFPH as another enormous success. YTFF will still have festivals in other countries for the remainder of the year.
