Steps on How to Register for The Philippine National ID

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has opened the registration for the Philippine national ID project on April 30, 2021, allowing everyone to register online through the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) portal.

The Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the Philippine Identification System Act, was signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte last August 2018. This project aims to provide a centralized identification system in the country paving the way to a digital economy.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to register for the Philippine National ID:

1. Login to

Enter your permanent mobile number or email address to receive an One-Time Password (OTP). Enter the OTP to be directed to the registration page.

2. Input the information needed in the form.

Philippine National I.D 2Personal information such as your name, sex, nationality, marital status, blood type, date of birth, age, birthplace, permanent and present address, mobile number, and email address will be required.

3. Double check your information.

A preview of your typed in information will be shown. Ensure that all information to be submitted is true, complete, and correct.

4. Book for your biometrics registration appointment

Pilot appointment bookings will open on May 24, 2021 for selected local government units (LGU). There would be no available bookings before the said date.

After the submission of registration form and biometrics data collection, the Philippine Identification System will issue a digital ID and a PhilSys Card Number (PCN).  The PCN will serve as a valid proof of identity.
