Mid-Week Blues? Listen To This City Pop Tune ‘Wednesday’ To Jazz Up Your

Feeling the mid-week blues? Cindy Zhang has the perfect song for you to perk up!

Working with producer Chad Manalo, known for his works with Tori Kelly, Us The Duo and AJ Rafael, her new single ‘Wednesday’ is a romantic upbeat track about longing to see your special someone after a mundane 9-5. Filled with funky basslines, guitar licks and synths, this track will remind you of City Pop and Retro Soul with a modern twist. The song will be released on all digital platforms on Wednesday, 23 March 2022.

Cindy teased the making of the song when she documented her casual trip to Los Angeles, California earlier in the year. Unbeknownst to her fans, the trip was intended for the singer-songwriter to complete the song with producer Chad Manalo. Cindy shared on the production process. ‘I love working with different producers for my music. I think each one of them lends a different kind of vibe, so it’s a really unique experience every time.’

Cindy stays true to herself with this dreamy city pop inspired tune, as she has become known amongst her followers on Tiktok to recommend songs from the genre. She elaborated on how the song came about. ‘I thought it was an interesting concept, aren’t Wednesdays the worst? You’re stuck in the middle of the week!’, she joked.

Dedicating the song to those missing their partners, Cindy shared, ‘The anticipation and excitement of meeting someone gets to you, and you just can’t wait for the next time you’ll meet. I think all of us can relate to the feeling, especially when you’ve just gotten into a new relationship.’

A lyric video is also in the works, which will be released the following week. ‘Wednesday’ will be available on all streaming platforms on Wednesday, 23 March 2022.
