Mastercard and Thai Airways enhances international travel of cardholders

According to the most recent Mastercard Asia Pacific Destination Index (APDI), a regional subset of the Global Destinations Cities Index (GDCI), Bangkok ranked as the top-most popular Asia Pacific Destination with over 22.8 million overnight international visitors in 2018. Thailand’s capital has retained its number one rank for the fourth consecutive year.

Similarly, Thailand’s flag carrier airline Thai Airways has been recognized as one of the world’s top 10 airlines per Skytrax’s Airline Ratings for 2019. Thai Airways-operated flights are known to international travelers for their world class standard of safety, convenience and service that reflects Thai identity and hospitality.

Given these trends in travel, Mastercard and Thai Airways are running a promotion that will allow Philippine Mastercard cardholders to travel to Thailand’s capital and over 25 other destinations with all-in, exclusive fares.

From October 1 to 16, 2019, and November 15 – 30, 2019, travelers can avail of the special fares through a Philippine-issued Mastercard, with tickets valid for the travel period of October 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. The promotion also allows cardholders to visit Bangkok enroute as it permits a stopover in the city at no additional charge.

Tickets may be purchased online at or through the Thai Airways Office in Makati City.

By continuously working with world class partners such as Thai Airways, Mastercard demonstrates its deep understanding of travel as a key passion for many, and creates offers and experiences that make travel more enjoyable for cardholders. In Bangkok specifically, cardholders can experience a private river cruise to arrive at their weekend brunch, stay in a forest villa in a national park or enjoy an exhilarating sunset helicopter ride.
