The Huawei Watch 3 is the latest release of Huawei, after a long time, in their Watch series. The. Device comes with a more updated design, classic and functional design, eSIM compatibility, and long battery life. As with the other Huawei wearables the device runs on the new HarmonyOS 2.0.

Let’s look first on the initial impressions and quick unboxing.

Inside the box

The Huawei Watch 3 is encased in a lage square box, unlike other smartwatches that are in a long and narrow box. It resulted to a more premium feel with the just the look of the box itself. Upon opening the box, you would first see the wearable itself, looking like a classic high-end analog watch. Furthermore, the device comes with a magnetic charger with a charging cable and the usual manual and warranty cards.

First Impressions

The Huawei Watch 3 has very sleek and minimal design that doesn’t look so bulky. The whole 1.43-inch front of the watch is touchscreen and runs on AMOLED display. The casing of the device is a 46mm 316L stainless steel.

The strap is made is fluoroelastomer which is very smooth to the touch. It also has soft edges compared to the previous watches of the series. What’s more amazing is that the strap could be changeable with just detaching it using a switch.

Surrounding the crown of the device are 2 buttons. The first button can be rotated and is used for easy scrolling. The second button is automatically set to open the workout modes but, it can be customizable to any app you prefer.

The Huawei Watch 3 is very easy to setup especially if your handheld phone is a Huawei model. For other smartphones, you just need. To download the Huawei Health app on Playstore or App Store. Just scan the QR code with the app to finalize and follow the onscreen instructions.

As the device runs with the newest HarmonyOS 2.0, the interface are in a grid format. The OS itself is very smooth and responsive. As the button with rotating crown is for toggling the menu, swiping upward will bring up the quick menu. Swiping from the left shows the weather app and the music controller, while swiping from the right will toggle health apps.

Final Thoughts

The first impression for this device is very surprising because I didn’t expect the Huawei Watch 3 to be very functional. It is also very easy to the eyes so, it doesn’t look and feel like a bother. It is hard not to like this device because of the functions and convenience it makes.

The device could be availed at the Huawei e-commerce store, Shopee, and Lazada. The Huawei Watch 3 is priced for PHP 18,999. For offline shop the device could be found on Huawei Experience Store and all authorized retail stores.
