George Optical Rebranded to George in its SM Megamall Re-Opening

Nothing beats George on eye care. Then known as George Optical, the preferred optics shop has been rebranded along with its reopening in SM Megamall.

Last September 5, George boasted its newly renovated eye store at the Ground Floor of SM Megamall Building A in Mandaluyong City. The fresh shop now has two consultation rooms with two licensed practicing Optometrists to accommodate patients.

The event was graced by George’s president, Dr. Geoffrey Co, and co-founder Mrs. Belen Co. It was also attended by George Brand Ambassador Gary Valenciano. Some other personalities came to celebrate with them like Gio Levy and Joko Reantaso.

And the re-opening is just in time as the world celebrates its Eye Care Awareness Month.

September 21 to October 18 sees the world eye care celebration. This observance is spearheaded by the World Council of Optometry with an aim to raise awareness about the importance of eye health, specifically around the prevention and treatment of avoidable blindness.

The health of our eyes is critical to our overall happiness and wellbeing. When we consider that over 80% of the information that you take in from the world is through your eyes, the importance of their health cannot be overlooked.

Our eyes can capture and interpret more than one-million pulse signals per millisecond and transmit to the brain. The eyes, like other organs of our body, are subject to stress and injury and can lose their full potential if not properly taken care of. Just imagine, almost half of the population of our youth are addicted to computer and mobile games which are now becoming one of the main cause of eye defect among this demographic.
