In an exciting turn of events, the RP Blu Girls seamlessly defeated Thailand with an 11 to 0 record at the first day of the 19th Asian Games, held at Hangzhou, China.
The Cebuana Lhuillier-backed team immediately led against Thailand from the first inning at a 5 to 0 record, followed by a 7 to 0 record by the end of the 2nd inning, then a commanding 11 to 0 score from the third inning till the end of regulation.
ASAPH President Jean Henri Lhuillier said that he is not surprised with the outcome as he is already familiar in the girls’ capabilities. “The performance of the Blu Girls has been extremely solid and I cannot wait to see them battle it out during the podium matches!”
The Filipinas will be gearing up as they face the powerhouse team of China on Sep 27, 7pm (PH Time).
The 19th Asian Games taking place in Hangzhou, China will be held from Sep 23 to Oct 8, 2023 with multiple sports matches happening daily.
