AirAsia Philippines has announced the expansion of its Manila-Taipei route, now operating 17 flights weekly starting this July. This increase from the previous 14 flights per week reflects the rising travel demand between the Philippines and Taiwan, particularly in time for the peak “Ber” travel season.
The expansion comes after the airline recorded an impressive 85% average load factor on its Taipei route, making it one of AirAsia Philippines’ top-performing international destinations. From January to June 2025 alone, over 70,000 guests flew to Taipei with the airline, and these numbers are expected to grow with Taiwan’s extension of its visa-free privilege for Filipinos until July 31, 2026.
“The additional flights come at the perfect time as we enter Q3 and gear up for the peak travel season. This move gets us ready for the expected surge in demand during the ‘Ber’ months, when many Filipinos head to Taipei to enjoy its cooler climate from September through February,” said AirAsia Philippines President and CEO Suresh Bangah. “It also allows us to serve our guests better by offering more options and flexibility whether they’re flying for leisure, business, or to reconnect with family and friends.”
With the increase in AirAsia Philippines Taipei flights, travelers now have more opportunities to explore the rich culture, cuisine, and scenic spots of Taiwan’s vibrant capital.
Beyond the Taipei route, AirAsia Philippines is also continuing to grow its fleet—now at 15 + 1 aircraft—as part of its commitment to deliver accessible and reliable travel across both domestic and international destinations. The expanded AirAsia Philippines Taipei flights are part of the airline’s broader strategy to respond proactively to guest demand while maintaining affordability and service excellence.
