Hello July and Hello rainy season!
The favorite months of the year of many Pinoys are over and beach bums can be seen waving a tearful goodbye to their romance with the sea.
For most of us, the rainy season gives us a lonely and sulking vibe, while some others are suddenly overwhelmed with sentiments. Some others feel like they’re in some kind of “Twilight” setting where the days are always gloomy and wet, but for some others, it’s the perfect time to do some interesting activities they couldn’t have thought of doing during the summer season.
So if you think you can’t enjoy the incoming wet months, here are 5 things that will definitely change your outlook of the rainy season:
1 Netflixing and Viu!
When can be a better time to watch all the cringing action on TV that you missed the whole summer than the months of July to September?
During these months, a lot of typhoons enter the Philippine islands, so you’re most welcome class and work suspensions!
Pinoys are naturally fanatics of TV novels. Whether be it a Hollywood series or a Korean drama, Pinoys get so attached with stories that they can binge-watch a single season for just one whole day!
So it’s time to log in to your Netflix account and check the latest episodes of “The Crown” or “Abyss” on Korean platform Viu. Or if there’s nothing to find here then browse over HBO for the trilling “Game of Thrones.”
Just because you are trapped indoors doesn’t mean you can’t travel. Enter the world of any good drama and they will take you to places farther than any ticket could ever do.
2 Perfect a new hobby
One of the best ways to keep busy during a rainy day is to find a new hobby. Discover your talent for art or writing blogs. Or try to see if you still have the knack on cooking. This keeps you busy and lets you use some of those ingredients in your pantry you've always wanted to try. The best part is that you end up with a tasty result at the end that everyone can enjoy.
And the best part is you can indulge in your recipes while binge-watching
3 Try indoor wall climbing
Now that you can’t go outdoors for some good trekking and hiking, why not bring out the adventurous side of you indoors…indoor wall climbing!
Practice your wall climbing skill in preparation for the real thing when you visit Sagada, Quezon, Rizal or El Nido in November. It’s fun and it’s cheap.
Caves are more alive with some flowing water inside. This makes the exploration more challenging but really exciting! Whether you are a newbie or an experienced one, head on the caves of Sagada in Mt. Province, Peñablanca in Cagayan, Calbiga in Samar, Kasibu in Nueva Vizcaya, Aglipay in Quirino or Kapalong in Davao Del Norte and explore their wondrous caves systems.
5 Cable Wakeboarding
And last but not the least…wakeboarding!
Since it is wet season, might as well spend a wet day of ultimate fun in cable wakeboarding. It is definitely one of the things that can be done even under the rain without facing real danger. Visit Lago de Oro in Calatagan, Nuvali in Sta. Rosa or go as far as Naga in Camarines Sur to experience the fun of this sport.
Now who said the rainy season should slow you down?
