TP, a global leader in digital business services, successfully participated in the 2025 Brigada Eskwela Program. Said program is an annual initiative of the Department of Education (DepEd) which mobilizes various sectors, organizations, and individuals to ensure that public schools are safe, resilient, and well-equipped for the upcoming school year. With literacy as DepEd’s key priority, this year’s theme, “Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa,” spotlights the Department’s nationwide campaign advancing literacy development.

Through its corporate social responsibility arm, Citizen of the World (COTW), TP in the Philippines has consistently supported Brigada Eskwela, demonstrating the organization’s continued commitment to the improvement of school facilities and resources, as well as the promotion of volunteerism and community engagement.

On the same day, 216 volunteers from nine TP sites, headed over to their adopted schools and rolled up their sleeves to participate in TP Dreambuilder, the company’s support to the 2025 Brigada Eskwela. Collectively, employees expressed their love language through voluntary services in nine schools, namely: 1) Brookspoint Elementary School in Baguio City, Benguet; 2) Leoncia Village Integrated School in Angeles City, Pampanga; 3) Bambang Elementary School in Pasig City, Metro Manila; 4) Molino Elementary School in Bacoor City, Cavite; 5) Sum-Ag Elementary School in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental; 6) Iba Elementary School in Talisay City, Cebu; 7) Pagalungan National High School in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental; 8) Bunawan Aplaya Elementary School in Davao City, Davao del Sur; and 9) Jose Divinagracia, Sr. Elementary School in General Santos City, South Cotabato.

The volunteers upheld the spirit of “bayanihan” (mutual assistance) and displayed remarkable dedication by demonstrating the value of presence and showing up to refurbish school facilities. Such efforts included clean-up and repainting activities, minor to medium repairs, and maintenance work in classrooms and on school grounds, resulting in 1080 hours of volunteer work.

“While the project looks like work, it’s actually very fun and rewarding—it’s fun because you get to do it with our leaders and team members, and today’s extra special because I get to bring my 11-year-old son to volunteer for the first time. It’s rewarding because we get an opportunity to pay it forward. It’s great for an organization to create opportunities such as this where our employees can give back to our communities,” said Marick Miraflor, Vice President for Operations of TP in the Philippines, who has led Brigada Eskwela volunteers since 2013.

“This volunteer work, which is part of TP’s sustained support for education, connects directly to our values. Under COTW program, TP has consistently engaged in projects and initiatives that support child rights in the Philippines. We do this as part of our commitment to nurturing young minds and defending every child’s right to learn and dream,” added Jeffrey Johnson, TP in the Philippines Chief People Officer and COTW President.
