Rising Indonesian pop/R&B singer-songwriter Naykilla unveils a new vibrant single and video “You”, a heartfelt confessional about unrequited love that translates into a new wave of positivity.
In Naykilla’s latest offering, she touches on the familiar sting of a significant other becoming distant, despite being given repeated chances to fall in love again. The song is an earnest nod to the need for self-love as she moves on from misplaced trust in a relationship. Naykilla shares, “Happiness starts with ourselves–a little less expectation will minimise the pain, so let’s just vibe along to the song! ”
The accompanying music video is a characteristically vibrant visual montage that is reminiscent of the uplifting and bubbly energy that the song encompasses. “In the video, I wanted to portray more of the fun and enjoyment of having “me time” to celebrate the decision of letting someone that I used to really like go,” Naykilla elaborates.
