It is said to be at least $200 million in the US with a 60/40 split in favor of Mayweather, win or lose.
Because of this, even the fans in the Philippines would have to pay premium to watch the pay per view of the biggest fight in the history.
Solar Entertainment, the rights holder of the mega fight is reportedly paying for as much as a whopping $10 million for the rights to air here in the Philippines. Hence, an increase in theater screenings and pay-per-view prices are expected.
Cignal Front Seat Pay Per View is charging a special rate of P 2,000 for the early birds. And those who will miss it until April 19 will have to pay the regular rates of P 2,500. This is according to Oscar Reyes, COO of the Cignal TV.
Sky cable, on the otherhand, will air the fight exclusively, commercial-free and full hd, with bonus features for P2,999.
The Pacquiao-Mayweather Jr. fight is set to be aired on May 3, Sunday, 8 am.
