A Decade of Comfort Filipino Dining
Since its inception in 2013, Manam has been a haven for those seeking comfort in shared meals of traditional and reimagined Filipino fare. Originating in Makati City, this restaurant has consistently aimed to extend its homey ambiance through its culinary offerings. Over the past decade, with more than 20 shops to its name, Manam has successfully expanded its unique dining experience to various neighborhoods, both within and beyond Metro Manila. Its latest milestone is the opening of its 25th branch in the culinary heart of the Philippines—Manam SM City Clark—welcoming diners for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery as of May 2024.
A New Destination for Filipino Favorites
Manam SM City Clark is the restaurant’s 3rd regional outpost, featuring its extensive menu of Filipino flavors categorized into Classics and Twists. The Classics include beloved traditional dishes such as rich and savory Kare-kare with Oxtail, crunchy and creamy Gising Gising, and the delightful Crispy Pata with Garlic Chili Bits. Notably, the menu includes the House Crispy Sisig, a tribute to the Kapampangan specialty, featuring extra crispy pork chunks topped with a special sour-savory sauce and chicharon bits.
On the Twists side, diners will find innovative takes on familiar flavors, like Sinigang na Beef Short Rib and Watermelon, where watermelon adds a mild sweetness to the traditionally sour broth. This section also features the popular Ube + Sago Pampalamig, a shake made with purple yam, coconut cream, and chewy tapioca pearls, perfect as a dessert or a complement to any meal. The Crispy Pancit Palabok, with its crunchy glass noodles that soften under hot shrimp sauce, is a favorite not only for its taste but also for its unique presentation, having gained popularity on social media and recognition from New York-based publication Insider.
Manam SM City Clark also offers a full range of traditional Filipino pastries and desserts, all reimagined for the modern palate. This includes the sweet and tangy Calamansi Tart, the delightful Buko Pie, the crowd-pleasing Puto Bumbong with Muscovado Butter, and various kinds of Bibingka.
A Space for Every Occasion
Aside from pampalamigs (shakes), pang-almusal (breakfast), and minatamis at kakanin (sweets), all of Manam’s dishes are available in three sizes—small, medium, and large—ensuring there’s a perfect serving size for solo diners, families, and large groups. The dining space at Manam SM City Clark, adorned with signature collages and a palette of teal, brown, and brass, provides a cozy and bright atmosphere. This aesthetic creates an inviting setting for leisurely brunches, lunches, meriendas, and dinners.
“We are always so happily surprised by how we have been received each time we’ve opened our doors in different neighborhoods. We are excited to welcome diners in Clark this time around and to give them a taste of our own menu of classics and reimagined recipes, which have become favorites of both local and visiting diners across Manam’s various locations,” says Abba Napa, restaurateur and Moment co-founder.
Championing Filipino Cuisine
Manam’s innovative approach to Filipino dishes has made it a popular destination for families and friends seeking a uniquely modern Filipino dining experience. Recognized by multiple publications as a must-visit for balikbayans (returning Filipinos) and foreigners alike, the restaurant continues to champion Philippine cuisine by introducing fresh and exciting ways to enjoy it.
Expanding into Pampanga, a region with a rich culinary heritage, marks a significant step in Manam’s journey. “We’ve been so fortunate to share meals and create memories with our patrons throughout these first 10 years. We look forward to that happening for us and our guests in Clark as well,” shares Napa. “It’s quite an honor for Manam to be part of this burgeoning community that’s the center of tourism and culture in the region. To be able to support that with the dining experience we champion would be a dream come true.”
