‘MAD Talks Padayon’ extends advocacy on mental health, volunteerism

Nonprofit group I am MAD (Making A Difference) Volunteers, Inc. is once again holding its ‘MAD Talks Padayon’ forum highlighting mental health and the importance of volunteerism in boosting overall wellness.

In line with the celebration of the World Mental Health Month, the event is happening on October 14 at the Jose Rizal University Centennial Auditorium, Mandaluyong City. MAD Talks Padayon is calling on everyone to participate, including students, leaders, educators, young professionals, and parents—whether they’re part of the volunteering community or not.

“More than just an event, MAD Talks Padayon is a gathering of community encouragers that serves as a beacon of light in a world that sometimes feels shrouded in darkness,” said Edwin Basa, Project Lead of MAD Talks Padayon.

Extending from its highly successful event last year, MAD Talks Padayon amplifies the discussion on the positive impact of volunteerism on mental health, particularly how it can instill a sense of purpose and significance in one’s existence, all while boosting self-esteem and overall well-being. Regarded as “Your Ultimate Hugot Event,” it promotes a safe space to share, support, and socialize through meaningful conversations and inspiring stories from passionate speakers.

This year’s lineup of volunteer speakers include multi-awarded Global Youth Ambassador and ASEAN Youth Advocates Network founder Mirus Ponon; advocate for children with autism and senior creative designer Lyman Hansel Gerona; lead convenor of BIDA para sa Dumagat passion project Mayo Ceazar Mendoza; and mental health advocate Ymari Kristia Pascua, whose story was featured on ABS-CBN’s “Maalaala Mo Kaya” program.

In addition, attendees can look forward to musical performances and entertainment courtesy of JRU’s Teatro Rizal, the official performing arts partner of MAD Talks Padayon.

Tickets are now available for as low as Php 49.00 at bit.ly/MADTalksPadayon2023. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the learner-participants of MAD Camps 2024 program.

MAD Talks Padayon is supported by CID Communication, #MentalHealthPH, Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP) of NYC, CEMEX, Motivo Philippines, Photo X Media Corp., Creative Adobo, along with the following media partners: ClickTheCity.com, CSR Insights, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Now You Know PH, SwirlingOverCoffee.com, The Manila Times, The New Channel, and WhenInManila.com as the primary blog partner.
