Jungle has shared a first-of-its-kind interactive video for their new single “Back On 74”, the latest track to preview the British production duo’s fourth album ‘VOLCANO’ which follows on August 11th via Caiola Records/AWAL. The video is the latest drop in Jungle’s creative collaboration series with WeTransfer, and is available for 14 days exclusively at Jungle’s dedicated site within WeTransfer. It will be further promoted via WeTransfer’s global landing page, which is used by over 80 million monthly users across 190 countries around the world. “Back On 74” is the final taste of things to come before the release of the highly-anticipated ‘VOLCANO’. The track combines lush soulful melodies with a backdrop that sees Jungle exploring the boundaries of their sound to create something uplifting and free-spirited and provides a juxtaposition to previous singles “I’ve Been In Love (ft. Channel Tres)”, “Dominoes” and “Candle Flame (ft. Erick The Architect)”, all of which received widespread support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, Radio 2 and Apple Music 1.
While “Back On 74” continues Jungle’s unique visual aesthetic with its intricately crafted choreography, audacious one-take photography and joyous merger between music and movement – it’s a film that breaks new ground within the music video world, thanks to the collaboration with WeTransfer’s in-house Creative Studio and Emmy Award-winning Nexus Studios. The “Back On 74” video is presented as a virtual art gallery, and each piece of art displayed can be downloaded by viewers in real-time. When an artwork is downloaded, it’s instantly replaced by a random choice of 10,000 other unique works, all of which were created by Jungle’s J Lloyd. As a result, the “Back On 74” will constantly evolve with every watch and each interaction will again alter the experience for subsequent viewers.
“Back On 74” was directed by J Lloyd and Charlie Di Placido, produced by WeTransfer, and was filmed at London’s legendary Alexandra Palace. The video represents the final drop from the Jungle and WeTransfer creative collaboration series that has previewed the release of ‘VOLCANO’. The project has been designed to enable Jungle to connect with their fans directly by offering a range of exclusive content from WeTransfer for free download. These have included backgrounds, wallpapers and ringtones for mobile phones; music stems for a remix competition; and a zine featuring behind-the-scenes material.
Anticipation for the ‘VOLCANO’ album was recently heightened with the news that the full-length film, ‘VOLCANO, The Motion Picture’ will premiere exclusively on the Jungle fanclub from August 11th (fans can access the film here).
The ‘VOLCANO’ album will represent a leap forward for Jungle. Not only embracing their position in the music community by drawing upon their broadest array of featured collaborators to date, but their innovative production expertise means that almost every single note you hear on the album is entirely original – it features just one sample. The result is an inspiring, life-affirming experience that will provide communal joy on the dancefloor as well as personal escapism through headphones.
Jungle are lifelong friends from Shepherd’s Bush, London.
