HONOR has officially announced the global rollout of its groundbreaking intent-based eye tracking technology, a first in the smartphone industry. Starting on August 27, devices like the HONOR Magic6 Pro will feature this innovative technology, marking a significant milestone in making smartphones more accessible.
The eye tracking feature is a part of HONOR’s broader vision to integrate advanced technologies into everyday devices, enhancing the user experience for all, including those with disabilities. This follows the company’s recent investment in non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, aimed at making assistive tech more accessible.
To illustrate the impact of this technology, HONOR partnered with BBC Storyworks to share the story of Bernard Muller, a man living with ALS for 14 years. In the video, Muller demonstrates how he communicates with his wife and creates stunning artworks using HONOR’s eye tracking technology, despite his inability to speak clearly. The campaign, which also launched the hashtag #HONORtheChallenger, aims to raise awareness and support for the ALS community.
Earlier this year, HONOR showcased the potential of this technology by using eye tracking to start a car with just a smartphone, highlighting its versatility. As the technology continues to evolve, HONOR is expected to introduce even more innovative applications, making life easier for users, particularly those facing various challenges.
