Rising Singapore based indie-rock outfit Hijack Hayley are pleased to announce a brand new release with the arrival of ‘Pedestrian’, lifted from the upcoming debut EP ‘COUNTERPARTS’ due this October.
The young quartet deliver a rousing, empowered guitar driven track, channelling heartfelt lyrics through an infectious, wholesome dose of indie nostalgia. They say: “This track talks about wanting to change the lull in one’s everyday life. Running away from the existing routines to seek high points. To be more charismatic and lovable. The track ends with a big instrumental finale that suggests the triumph of this adventure.”
Haling from the city-island of Singapore, the disparate group of twenty somethings formed in 2017 features Terence (Lead vocalist/guitarist), Munir (Lead guitarist), Randy (Bassist) & Russell (Drummer). Hijack Hayley’s music encompasses an eclectic mix of stadium rich sounds blending together rhythmic guitar tones, heavy melodious leads, dirty low end bass and thunderous drum fills, paying homage to fellow luminaries like Arctic Monkeys, Inhaler, Sam Fender and Japanese Breakfast. With a clutch of acclaimed singles ‘Burning Bridges’ and ‘Inside’ released earlier this year, the band are also poised to debut their anticipated EP ‘Counterparts’, together with a series of live shows scheduled this year.
