This May 13, AC Biomechanics, a Physical Therapy and Functional Training Center in Quezon City is offering a Free In-depth Biomechanics Assessment from May 13 to 27, 2025 as they celebrate its 1st Anniversary.
Following his 8-year stint as a practicing Physiotherapist, Jan Aldwin Cruz, founder of AC Biomechanics decided to start his own private practice together with his fiancée and business partner, Carla June Garcia, last May 2024. AC Biomechanics distinguishes itself by offering a Biomechanics Training Program that extends beyond traditional physical therapy. This program focuses on analyzing and enhancing an individual’s full-body human motions, or “biomechanics”. By upgrading one’s biomechanics through precise corrective exercises, they can achieve effortless strength and regain pain-free movement.
From the word “bio”, which means life, and “mechanics” which is the study of motions, Biomechanics refers to a study of how a person moves and the forces that affect those movements. AC Biomechanics follows a training method called Functional Patterns, developed by Naudi Aguilar.
When asked about his turning point for starting his own practice, founder Jan Aldwin Cruz said, “It wasn’t a sudden turning point, but more of gradual realizations. After I graduated from college, I saw the limitations of traditional Physical Therapy and wanted to give more to my patients. I also wanted to solve my own body pains and movement limitations that I couldn’t solve through traditional training and callisthenics. That is when I stumbled upon Functional Patterns, a system where you address symptoms of body pain by looking at how the body moves as a whole. I tried integrating the method in my practice, but the traditional PT setting was limited as to what I could teach my patients. So I’ve decided that I must eventually open up a facility that will specifically offer this kind of service to my clients.”
As they celebrate their first year, AC Biomechanics hopes to reach more people by helping them realize that “you can solve a big part of your health and fitness problem by mastering your body’s mechanics”, shared Cruz.
Through their Free 30 to 60-minute In-depth Biomechanics Assessment from May 13 to 27, clients will discover more about their movement patterns and behaviors, identify factors that could be contributing to their pain and discomfort, and be introduced to a personalized program that will help them achieve their health and fitness goals. This Assessment includes medical history check, psychosocial and lifestyle evaluation, movement analysis, posture assessment, and gait analysis (walking & running). After the assessment, clients who opt to undergo the Biomechanics Training Program will learn how to improve the “FP First 4” Fundamental Human Movements — a balanced and efficient standing, walking, running, & throwing mechanics.
AC Biomechanics aims to provide lasting solutions for recurring and chronic health issues. This is achieved by guiding individuals through functional rehabilitation and empowering them to adopt sustainable active lifestyles. The program is suitable for most ages and cases.
