Father John Misty has unveiled his sixth studio album, Mahashmashana, which is now available worldwide via Sub Pop and through Bella Union in the UK and EU. The album spans eight tracks over 50 minutes and features standout singles including “I Guess Time Makes Fools of Us All,” “She Cleans Up,” “Screamland,” and the newly released “Josh Tillman and The Accidental Dose,” accompanied by a music video directed by Aaron Eisenberg.
Mahashmashana, co-produced by Josh Tillman and Drew Erickson, with executive production by Jonathan Wilson, delves into themes of mortality and transcendence, inspired by the Sanskrit term महाश्मशान (Mahāśmaśāna), meaning “great cremation ground.”
