December Avenue recently invited a small group of friends, longtime supporters, and members of the media to an intimate listening party for their new song “Ahon,” set to be released on May 9, 2025.
The gathering was held at Teatrino in Greenhills – a venue that holds special meaning for the band. It’s where they played their first self-produced major concert back in 2016, making the night feel like a homecoming to where it all started.
“This place holds a lot of memories for us,” the band shared. “It felt right to come back here to share something new.”
Ahon, which means “to rise,” is a song about starting again – whether that means reconnecting with someone, chasing a dream you left behind, or returning to a part of yourself you’ve forgotten. It’s the kind of song that leaves you feeling understood even if you didn’t know you needed it.
“We wrote this for anyone who’s ever needed to come back to what makes their heart happy,” the band added. “Sometimes, you just need to be reminded that it’s okay to come back.”
A surprise moment came when the band performed Ahon live, joined by a collaborator whose identity is being kept under wraps. Guests were asked to keep the experience private for now, making the night feel even more personal and special.
“It was honest, moving, and full of heart,” said one guest.
“Their voices just fit together—unexpected, but it made perfect sense,” shared another.
Ahon will be available on all streaming platforms starting May 9. Until then, the band is holding this moment close—a small circle, a familiar place, and a song that feels like coming home.
