Cebuana Lhuillier, the Philippines’ largest and leading microfinancial services provider, proudly continues its Search for the Happiest Pinoy, reigniting a nationwide movement that celebrates Filipino resilience, optimism, and the power of everyday joy.
Since its relaunch earlier this year after a five-year hiatus, the campaign has already received over 400,000 nominations from across the country, reflecting the overwhelming response from Filipinos eager to share stories of inspiration and hope.
“This overwhelming response proves what we’ve always believed—Filipinos are naturally hopeful, joyful, and resilient,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier. “Through this campaign, we continue to celebrate the individuals who make us proud to be Filipino, those whose joy lifts others, even in the toughest of times.”
First introduced in 2009, the Happiest Pinoy campaign honors individuals whose positivity, compassion, and strength uplift those around them. The latest edition expands its impact with a more inclusive set of categories that reflect the diversity and vibrance of the Filipino spirit:
- Masayahing Gen Z – celebrating the upbeat and passionate youth
- Happy at 60 – honoring seniors who embody joy and grace
- No Way Kapansanan – recognizing persons with disabilities who inspire through perseverance
- Inspiradong Champion – spotlighting employees who motivate and empower their peers
- Bagong Bayani, Hatid Sigla – paying tribute to OFWs who bring happiness across borders
- Bibo sa Negosyo – highlighting entrepreneurs making a difference in their communities
- Proud as Pride – celebrating LGBTQIA+ individuals whose joy sparks courage and inclusion
- Creative Pinoy – honoring artists and creatives who spread joy through talent
Two special awards have also been introduced this year:
- Katutubo (TRIBO) – honoring indigenous individuals and communities
- Happiest Ka-Cebuana – recognizing long-time loyal clients of Cebuana Lhuillier
The grand winner will receive PHP 500,000 tax-free, while each of the eight category winners will receive PHP 35,000, and the two special awardees will each take home PHP 25,000, all tax-free.
A shining example of the campaign’s impact is former awardee Zaldy Bueno, a public school teacher who volunteers on weekends as an ALS instructor and co-founded PADYAK (Pidal Apakan, Dusnong Yayaman, Asenso’y Kakamtan), which donates bicycles to students facing long walks to school. His story continues to inspire others to live with purpose and joy.
With the campaign gaining strong momentum, Filipinos still have time to join in by nominating someone or sharing their own story of resilience and happiness.
